Sifu Gurdeep Singh of Birmingham training his Wing Chun forms
Welcome to Wing Chun Birmingham
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a traditional form of Chinese Kung Fu that promotes relaxation and fitness, and is a great form of self-defence. All aspects of the body are trained and work in unison including calming the mind and increasing physical strength. It is one of the martial arts Birmingham is known for, and we provide self defence classes Birmingham residents are looking for.

As relaxing as yoga and as effective for weight loss as any weight loss diet, Wing Chun is similar in some respects to other forms of the martial arts including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, aikido, karate, and judo. Kung Fu is often associated with Shaolin monks and its presentation on the movie screens may lead to some misconceptions. Wing Chun Birmingham classes should dispel any of these.

Originating in China, many believe that a Chinese-style life must be adopted, but there is as much MMA gym style exercise as there are ceremonies for green tea weight loss. Self defence classes in Birmingham give great opportunity to become physically flexible, strong, and you may find it to be the best exercise to lose belly fat.

Relaxing With Wing Chun Birmingham
Martial arts in Birmingham may not be what first enters your mind when you’re looking for a way to relax but compare Wing Chun Birmingham to yoga in Birmingham. Both disciplines require the body to be moved and held in certain positions that increase the strength and form while quickly burning off calories, and both also require a calm mind.

Martial arts classes in Birmingham require students to perform motions and movements that flow into each other, and this flow and softness is only achievable with a calm and relaxed mind. This is not to be considered an ineffective fighting style because of the softness – instead, the softness brings resilience to stand up against both physical and mental attacks.
